Thought I'd share how my lazy and cheap self uses one wooden mold for different sized batches.

I made this mold, filled up, it will hold a batch with 64 oz of oil.

I made a insert of wood, wrapped it freezer paper. Make sure it fits really tight, don't want it flopping around.

I have made a mess of marks on the mold so I know where to place the insert, I mark the top and inside too.

Tape the insert in place just in case, then line with freezer paper. I've never had the insert move, works great and I don't have to have multiple wooden molds taking up space.

Yes! That's what I do, but with freezer paper wrapped cardboard (it's thinner) and a weight on the empty side to hold it in place. Usually when I get to pouring the second side (if I do) the first side is setup enough that the divider stays in place.
