I wouldn't use vaseline, but I would mineral oil.
Although I would use it sparingly.
It would not be a beneficial oil in a recipe.
It would be only a barrier to prevent moisture loss.

There are so many wonderful oils available to us that are positively rich in good stuff for our skin. Why use mineral oil or vaseline? Both are petroleum products.

Many oils are really good for your skin & easily absorbed. These are just a few:
apricot kernel oil
sweet almond oil
she oil
jojoba
olive oil

You can make your own non-petroleum vaseline with extra virgin olive oil & beeswax. It's amazing how quickly it takes care of dry skin.

1 part beeswax
1 part extra virgin olive oil
