Hi all ... I made my first batch of soap today, but realised too late that part of my immersion blender was not stainless steel, so the Lye has reacted with it. The soap has turned out a bit of an unusual colour. I think it was supposed to be creamy white, but it appeared tinged with a tiny touch of grey. Im not sure whether it was supposed to be that colour, or if there is some metal in there. Im thinking I should throw it away, and get another immersion blender, and see it as a lesson learned. What does everyone think?

Aluminium turns soap grey when it reacts with soap batter.
Sorry to hear you need to toss it.
Good luck with the next blender and batch 🙂
