I am about to make my first transparent soap. My proposed recipe is:

Palm oil 250 gram
Coconut oil 300 gram
Castor oil 250 gram
olive oil 200 gram

Lye 142 gram (5% discount)
Water 380 gram

Lavender essential oil 31 gram

For solvents :
Alcohol 360 gram
Glycerin 195 gram

Sugar 195 gram
water 145 gram

I am a newbie. So far I have made only CP soaps but they all came great. Any advice and criticism are solicited.

Thanks in advance.

I have found propylene glycol easier to use than alcohol. The recipe at this link is a good one.

The recipe looks ok if your alcohol is 90% by volume, if not, you need more.

Does this type of soap need to cure like regular soap does?

It is essentially hot process. So not really, but I found with my successful batch, when you cut it feels a bit sticky so an hour or so and it's ready to go.
