For those who thought the first macaron lotion bars looked like real macarons...

I love the silicon molds I made using real macarons! Can’t wait to try them with soap!

In case anyone is curious, these are the real deal from Boutique Point G * in Montreal:

* “Point G“ is “G spot” in French (and yes, they are THAT good!)

What did you use to make your mold?

I sacrificed 6 delicious macarons from Boutique Point G in Montreal.

The silicons I use is from the company Smooth On (I like Mold Star 16 fast and Mold Max 14 NV). They have excellent customer service and are very fast to answer all your questions.

In the original 6 macarons molds I made from the macarons, I casted epoxy resin and then used these to make more molds.

It takes a LOT of work and can be a bit frustrating, which is why I’m really proud of myself for making them!

Looks cool, but probably wouldn’t retain every detail the way real silicon does.
True... but I was impressed by the detail that she got from 4 out of 6 objects she experimented with! It probably wouldn’t work well with delicate things like macaroons! I’ve never had one but they sure are pretty!

I wanna try this!!!!

It works, but the smell of the silicone caulking is not very pleasant. I made mine outside in good weather; good ventilation is a must and outdoors is also a must if you don't want to smell it for the next week after you make it.

Actually it does, but I don't know that it would work well with actual food. Maybe. And it is real silicone when you use silicone caulking, which is what I used.

See my avatar?

I made the soap mold using silicone caulking & dishwashing liquid. Then I made the soap. Then I felted the soap.

I don't

You have NO idea how good they are!

I used to be obese before my anorexia relapse 5 years ago because I was a sugarholic, so even now I avoid pretty much anything that contains sugars in fear of gaining the weight back.

That said, I will allow myself to eat a macaron once in a while (not just ANY macaron, they HAVE to be from Point G!).

I made new molds that are even better! 🤩

The 2 top ones are actual macarons. ;)

The lotion bars made with the old molds were already pretty realistic, so I’m very excited to try my new molds!
