Tanya of Lovely Greens on the Isle of Man (UK) has a wonderful site where you can learn the basics to make natural soap using essential oils, natural colorants, herbs, clays, etc. There are lots of recipes to hone your soap making skills and experience a variety of handcrafted soaps, including "No-Lye" melt & pour.

Here's where I buy bulk herbs & spices ( Monterey Bay Spice Co in CA). I like the small (4 oz) size they offer... plenty for creating infusions or adding (powder) directly to soap batches. Save on shipping by buying several at a time. I hope you enjoy this site I much as I have. :)

Monterey Bay Spice Company. Oh yes, in Watsonville. I've driven by it a time or two. I lived in Santa Cruz county before moving to Illinois. They get very good reviews. And they sell tea, too!
