I have been making liquid soap for a while now but I have a stuck batch. It won't go from an opaque mixture to a translucent mixture. It has been on the double boiler for 4 hours now. Has anyone had a batch of soap that neutralized without going translucent? Recipe is as follows:
16 oz Olive Oil
6.5 oz Coconut
2.5 oz Castor
5.5 oz KOH
15.5 oz water
The high levels of soft oil should extend the time out a little but I didn't expect it to take this long. I will let this batch sit overnight and insulate it to see if it just needs more time. Oh and this is going to be a gel soap not a foaming soap which is why there is a large level of soft oils.
