Hi everyone,

About a year ago I made this lip balm. I just discovered these light spots on it.
Anyone knows what this is and if/how I can prevent it?

Hard to say, since you don't give any information about the balm. Recipe? Method of making?

Might be something like "bloom" on chocolate which is the migration of certain fats to the surface of the chocolate when it experiences temperature changes.

is it wise to store them in the fridge for example?
I store mine in the fridge. The few that are a year old have spots that feel like they are crystalized, for lack of a better description. In any case, consider "lasting 1 year" as an "expiration" date. I put a date/code, i.e., 093022 (today's date), on every label so I know when a product is past it's prime. 😉
