I'm able to get my hands on some fresh Lemon Verbena plant leaves.

Any Ideas on how to incorporate into a nice recipe?

Do you have to dry the leaves then grind them up?
Should i infuse water with them and then use that water to mix in with the lye (not sure if the heat will ruin it)

Thanks

Hi!

I personally would infuse it in some oil - but you want to be careful - as it can sensitize the skin and cause phototoxicity. You may want to do a little research on safe amounts.

You could try to add the leaves but I am betting they will turn brown. If you design you soap around brown specs though it would be fine.

Id say do what Marr suggested, both tips at once! Infuse in your oil, water, and grind up some of the leaves and put it in the soap...maybe add a little lemon EO but as Marr said, make sure that its not irritating to the skin so id look up the safe amount to use, but Id love to see a soap that was all-infused from every angle with herbs!
