So guys, I heard so much about dual lye and wanted to try it out. I got extra pure KOH and the supplier claims its 99% pure. So, do I change the 90% to 99 in soapee?

Hello Soapprentice, how much did the specific KOH cost?

Where I live, I have been told that so high purity (>98) in KOH is very expensive and is used specifically for lab uses.
The normal KOH purity that is affordable for soapmaking ranges from 85% to 92%.

Can your supplier give you a CoA file for the specific KOH in order to see the purity that the manufacturer claims?

My family is into pharmaceutical manufacturing. They use KOH and buy in huge quantities.i got it from them. I will ask them.

If used for pharmaceutical manufacturing, yes, the KOH would be high-purity reagent grade. Lucky you!
