Regarding your mold: here's how I calculate it.

1 ounce of water by volume is one ounce by weight. Oil is pretty close - not perfect, but close enough. (for the purpose of determining mold size.)

Soap is roughly 2/3 oil and 1/3 water. (Again, not exactly, but good enough for this purpose.)

So to figure out what size mold you need, first figure out how many ounces it holds. Most mold producers say how much the mold will hold. You don't want to fill it to the tippy top.

For example, my TS mold, filled to the very top, holds 60 ounces. So I use 55 ounces.

55 / 3 = 18.3. so I use 18.
18 x 2 is 36. So for my 60 oz tall skinny mold, I use a recipe that has 36 ounces of oil.
