Is it possible to create a "like" button on SMF?

Hi!
I guess this is directed at the administrators or moderators. Is it possible to create a "like" button for SMF. I love it on FB. Sometimes I want to let someone know that I like their soap pix but do want all of the emails of other comments. I don't want to eliminate emails because it lets me know when someone has responded to a question or comment that I've posted. Any thoughts?

I was trying to add more emoticons when the SMF broke, so even though I'm SURE I didn't break it, I'm a bit leery of mucking about. But I'll try ever so carefully! Just give me some time (but remind me in a month if I don't say any more; I'm absent minded)
