Is Soda Caustica or (Caustic Soda) the same as Lye?

I hope so. I can't wait to make my first batch of soap!

Sodium Hydroxide is the chemical name....does it say that anywhere on the container?

In spanish - hidróxido de sodio - had to put it through a translater!!!

Yes. Caustic soda is lye.
