Are recipes for HP different to CP recipes or can you use a CP recipe and HP it ?

you can use the same formula for both it doesn't matter, just a few variations, like you add the fragrance or milk after the cook in hp where you add it at the beginning or at trace with cp.
the finished soap will also have a different appearance.

When i first started soaping all i did was HP soaps.
You can use the same exact recipes as you to CP.
But the biggest difference is WHEN you add your fragrance and other additives. Those are added in at the end of the cooking process when your soap has the consistency of mashed potatoes and just before you plop it into your mold working quickly before it cools off it can't be worked with anymore.
I have always HP in the oven and from what i have read it's easier and less fuss than using the crock pot.
