How to blend EO and FO?

Hi there! I was wondering how people safely calculate mixing an EO/FO blend. Are there safe guidelines?

It depends upon the EO or FO. I typically use .5oz to 1oz of FO or EO per pound of oils. For a peppermint EO/coconut FO blend, I know that the maximum skin level exposure for the brand of peppermint EO I use is 5%. For the coconut FO I use the maximum SLE is 3.6% In my blend I use 1 part peppermint EO to 2 parts coconut FO. The maximum amount of the FO for 28 oz of oil is 1.01 oz. The maximum recommended amount of peppermint EO for 28 oz of oil is 1.4 oz. If I choose to use the lowest recommended amount which is 1.01 oz. I divide this into 3 parts. Each part is equal to a little more than .36 oz. So if I would probably go with .35 oz of peppermint and .72 oz of Coconut FO. Hope this helps.
