Hi all! I want to make goat milk soap with some oatmeal added in, as I had bought some "oatmeal & honey" scent would like to try it.

I am using a shampoo and body bar recipe, so I just realized that adding oatmeal to the mix would not work out very well in hair...am I correct?

OK...so I guess that I will have to change my recipe a bit, or not call it a shampoo/body bar.

This is the recipe that I am considering:

LUXURIOUS GOATS MILK SOAP/SHAMPOO BAR
-9 ounces coconut oil
-9 ounces olive oil
-5 ounces castor oil
-3 ounces sweet almond oil
-2 ounces shea butter
-2 ounces cocoa butter
-1 ounce beeswax
-12 ounces goats milk frozen, slightly slushy
-4.1-4.5 ounces lye

I will be doing the HP in crockpot.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Whenever I make oatmeal soap, I like to use 1 tbsp. of oatmeal ppo. For what it's worth, I use baby oatmeal and I stickblend it into my oils.

IrishLass :)

per pound of oil :)

I use the same ratio when I use oatmeal. I normally go for colloidal oatmeal since I like very, very mild exfoliation.

I'd not use that bar on my hair, it has too many butters/waxes. Hair shampoo really needs to be formulated for hair only.
