This is probably a beginner's question so I will put it here.

I'm going to make some OMH soap soon.

I am wondering what percentage of honey I should add.
Also, when to add.
And, any special info I should know?

Is this for melt and pour? I'm of the belief that additives like oils and foods should not be used in mp.
If its for CP, I thin the honey down with a little water then add it to the cold lye solution. The honey will heat the lye mix back up. If it gets too hot, let it cool back down a little.

I add honey to most of my soaps. (I am a beekeeper, so feel it's somewhat expected anyway.) I stick with the lower end, 1 teaspoon ppo. The only soaps I don't add honey to already have sugars - beer and kombucha.

i like honey in soap and use more ppo

slowly add thinned honey to cool lye

a teaspoon ppo makes a noticeable difference
a tablespoon ppo is very nice in a solid recipe

special info
add honey too fast to the lye and the honey will scorch and volcano
(this makes a very nice caramel scented soap with unfortunate brown lather)

honey to excess
makes a soft recipe softer and a firm recipe rubbery
