How do I get shiny soap bars?

Purchase a pair of white cotton gloves from the drug store. When your soap has cured for about 4 weeks and is hard, put the gloves on and rub the bars firmly. I call this buffing the soap. This will smooth the edges as well.

Hi!

Soaps that are gelled make for very shiny soaps after buffing. Some that do not gel are just too creamy looking to ever really get a nice shiny look.
 
For picture taking, a shiny bar can be had by spritzing with rubbing alcohol. :wink: I use a pair of my wife's old hose to buff mine with.
