I've always wanted to make homemade soap so during the pandemic, my husband got me over my fear of dealing with lye and I've been hooked ever since. I have only done HP as I love the rustic look. I love gathering from nature, plus planning my garden containers with flowers and herbs to dry and infuse in oils. I make for family and friends for gifts, a little shy about full-on selling but I have a few people wanting to buy. I have lots to learn yet, I would like to know more and understand the science of soap for when people ask why I put certain things in my recipes. Looking forward to reasearching that kind of stuff.

Welcome to the forum. May I recommend watching the YouTube tutorials on Soaping101 and Bramble Berry?

In addition to @lsg 's advice, you might want to spend some time reading @DeeAnna 's Soapy Stuff. There's a wealth of info there based on the science of soapmaking. It's a good thing!
