Can an herbal tea infusion be used in place of water? The tea also has some citric acid and stivia in it. Will those extra ingredients react with the lye in a bad way?

Also, can Red Palm Oil be used in soapmaking? Is it the same or similar to Palm Oil?

Thanks!

hi there!

red palm oil is fine to use in soapmaking, but it will tint your soap pinkish to orangish-depending on amount used. it is beta carotene (vitamin A).

you can use herbal infusions, but remember that most of them will not have much "medicinal" value due to the lye process.
