I finally got my hands on Mg(OH)2 this year and while I really liked my first batch, something doesn't quite work. It's based on cmzaha's recipe they generously shared in Deodorant help thread but something in my ingredients or the portions is wrong as some odd yellowish oil like substance separated from the main mixture. Any ideas what has happened and how I should tweak the recipe to get it to keep together?

My recipe is
42 g Babassu oil (42%)
30 g Mg(OH)2 (30%)
8 g Arrow root powder (8%)
5 g BTMS25 (5%)
5 g Cetyl alcohol (5%)
3 g Zinc ricinoleate (3%)
3 g Cocoa butter (3%)
2 g Zinc oxide (2%)
2 g Oatsilk (2%)
6 drops of tea trea oil
6 drops of lavender oil

I made a second patch and only difference is I switched oatsilk to silk powder. Maybe that makes a difference...

I also made a second set with only the oils and waxes to make sure the base is solid. If that keeps together the next couple of weeks, I'll add Mg(OH)2 and see what happens then and then one at a time until it works or something ruins it. =D
