I just love this forum, I can show my stupidity off almost a weekly basis. Ok, I made a 3.5 lb batch today that was a no color, no scent soap. I decided to add a little SA because I like the way it make my bars feel, just a little smoother and harder. I normally don,t use it much because it speeds trace but I wasn't concerned doing a plain Jane.
I was only going to add 1.12 oz of it and I made the mistake of thinking I could eyeball an oz, so as I was pouring it in from the bag with my oily hands, guess what happened?
Of course it slipped and I dumped about 4 oz in there.
Talk about a fast trace! Ok I got it in the mold, but I don't know what to expect. Will it reduce the lather? Increase it?
Here is the Recipe with the 4oz included.
Avocado 5.6 oz
Lard 14 oz
Coconut 11.20 oz
Olive Oil 19.60 oz
Shea butter 2.80 oz
Castor oil 1.68 oz
Stearic acid- 4 oz
33% lye Concentration
7% lye discount
Do ya'll think it will be alright? I have never used that much.

E.T.A- Yes I did go back to soap calc to adjust the lye amount.

Another lesson learned.

Thanks, it really dropped the lather # on SoapCalc. I thought that was odd because I knew I was used in shaving soaps.
