Then how do I figure out how many ounces to use for the other 20%?

What's the formula?

16oz is 80% of X

16 = .80(x)

16/.8 = x

x = 20


So your total weight is 20 oz.

20% of 20oz = Y

.20 * 20 = Y

4oz = Y

The way that works for me is 80 is 4/5 of 100. What is 16 4/5 of? So I divide 16 by 4, which equals 4. Then I add 4 to 16 for 20.

The other way is simpler, but I can't do it in my head.
