My only soap-making experience came from helping my Granny make hers when I was a kid. I've forgotten everything she taught me long ago, but recently found her notes on the ingredients she used, and I'd like to try to make a batch. If it turns out decent, I may start making my own soap. Right now I use Kirks Castile Soap, which is okay for store bought soap, but nowhere near as good as what I grew up with. So I'm pretty much starting from scratch. Since I don't know if I'll stick with this if my first try fails, I'd like to invest as little as possible (I can upgrade later). Right now I'm just starting to acquire the essentials.
