I'm just getting started in soaping. I made lye soap with my mother as a kid, after the butchering, but now I'm learning to experiment with pretty colors and scents.
We're off on a vacation to Maryland this next week (Lexington Park, to be exact) -- is there any cool place to go shopping for soap supplies around there?

Welcome, Grams. I am not sure about anything soapy in Maryland, but getting over to DC to see all the national monuments, statues and so forth is always high on my list.

There is a Soap Making Intensive in Annapolis on July 27th, though if you're interested in looking into that. If you look on the Guild's site here, you can check out if any of the supply sources listed are on your travel itinerary or close enough for a little detour. Some of the shops that carry Essential oils might be worth a short detour. And I see a Candle Supply store on the list that might not be too far, depending on if you have a car or not, of course.

Edit: I missed this in Friendsville, MD: https://av-at.com/
