Hi everyone

I have taken an interest in soap making and have a few ideas. I am interested in making no lye, organic soap or all natural herbal for my family. The information around is overwhelming, so I guess I will start here. I will keep you all abreast with my progress.

There is indeed quite a bit of info floating around out there. The folks here are very friendly and always willing to answer questions. We have had a lot of people asking about lye free soap, but there is no such thing. All soap is made with lye. However there is no lye in the finished product as it goes through a chemical reaction with the fats/oils making soap.

thanks for the replies. Yes I have been reading that I cannot make the soap without lye and it is not in the finished product....Is this why there is no mention of it in the ingedients on the organic soaps......anywho I best get to making my soap lye and all. LOL....thanks
