Getting the honeycomb look

This may have been asked before and is probably a silly question, but can you line the mold with bubble wrap and then pour the soap to get a honeycomb effect all over? Will the bubble wrap hold up to the lye?

Yup, it seems to hold up just fine. I put one on top after too so that I get the effect top and bottom.

Yup! I do rub mine down with a bit of mineral oil to make sure the bubble wrap removes cleanly. I have actually done this with hot process soap, so it holds up to the lye AND the heat.

I use bubble wrap all the time for my honey soap (either the blue kind or the clear kind- both work great).

Do you gel? I ask because I've never had need to 'grease' mine. It comes cleanly off my gelled soap like buttah.
