Hey everyone, I need some help. I made a batch of soap with activated charcoal last night and this morning realized I never added the castor oil 😒. I only use it at 5%, and my thinking is the soap will still be safe as I superfat 5% in my recipes so it evens out. Does that make sense or am I way off? Other than not having the castor oil properties will it be safe to use? I’m attaching my recipe below (the fragrance weight is not correct but the rest is what I used). Thanks guys!!1710D7BA-52C0-4C58-A315-739CB95A23EC.jpeg

You can do the “zap“ test to check if the lye is neutralized. See this thread:

Unless you use very high purity lye, (99% pure or better), you should have a bit of leeway (some unsaponified fat) due to lye impurity.

I agree with all of the advice you've gotten in this thread and the other one.

Just post a question once, please. You posted the exact question twice in two forums. This gets really confusing.
