They really are not good drying trays since they are metal. If curing soap touches metal dos can result

Nice first batch Jasmyne. People lately are like pro's right out of the gate!

Michael's is my daughter favorite store but this time the coupon is for daddy's new cart. Thx for the link!

And soon you'll find yourself distracted in the oil aisle in the store....
Next it's "I wonder if that will work for a mold"?
And it goes on and on...

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your soap!

Ms Grooms, it appears you have some bragging rights on this batch! Let me add my congratulations.

Feels a little satisfying, doesn't it?

I swear it’s my first!! My second was a little uglier yesterday but it thickened up so quick I barely got it in the mold!!!

I wouldn’t brag but I’m definitely proud of myself! I watched enough YouTube videos:lol:

One of the biggest traps as a new soaper is to stick blend too much - I think we've all done it. That will thicken up your batch pretty quick.

Thanks much for this information - I did not know that. If I put cheese cloth in the drawers (for breathability) would that sufficiently mitigate this? Thanks!

Lovely soaps! Well done! Even if your second batch didn't quite turn out the way you were expecting, it can still be a learning experience.

Those are very pretty soaps. Wonderful to see a first attempt work out so well! It's great motivation to make way more soap than you'll ever need isn't it?!:D
