Hi,

This is my first soap recipe that I made and I would like to use it as a shaving soap. But before gettign started I would like your opinion on the recipe as I am still very very new to all of this.

Thank you
Chrisje

super fat: 5 %
Lye Concentration: 27 %
11 % Cacaobutter: 30 gram
4 % Avocado oil: 11 gram
21 % Coconut oil, 76 deg : 60 gram
8 % Castor oil: 22 gram
47 % Olijfolie [Sodium Olivate ] : 133 gram
4 % Almond oil sweet : 11 gram
5 % Grapeseed oil: 14 gram
NaOH: 38 gram
Water: 103 gram ( perhaps 40% of it being aloe vera juice )

I would like to include the following to this recipe:

1/2 - 1 tblsp Kaolin
1 tsp Vitamin E
Geranium essential oil

1 more question could you substitute water for rosewater and will it keep it's fragrance?

Thank you
Chrisje

Hi

It looks like a fairly good bath bar recipe, but I'm afraid that it doesn't look like a shaving soap in any way :( I'm wondering where you got the ideas from for this one.

There are some really good shaving soap threads in the main CP section that would be worth a read - look for 'shaving soap - want to make it' for a great 101
