I made my very first batch Saturday and were ya'all right! It is addictive and fun. My friend kicked me out of the kitchen when she was mixing the lye because I have very bad reactions to all sorts of things... but the lye solution luckily wasn't one of them! Phew.
We made a two pound batch with the olive, cocunut and castor oils. Tonight I'll unmold it and cut it into the bars and then wait four weeks. Do I need to turn it every day or every other day?
I had so much fun, I made a four pound batch yesterday with peppermint essential oils. Traced within ten minutes with the stick mixer. Now I have to buy some more ingredients.
