I finally tracked down a local (Australian) company with tussah silk. She had milk fibre, corn fibre, camel fibre (mixed with silk), pineapple fibre and other interesting fibres along with many (mainly sheep) animal varieties as expected.

I have ordered a few of the top mentioned ones in small amounts to have a try. Interesting........... will I waste my soap trying them?

Wow!! That is a good find. I have added silk to my soaps in the past, I thought it added extra slip. Maybe it was just wishful thinking.

I've only every used tussah silk, I have seen where others have used corn silk. The others, I've not heard of being used in soap....very interesting tests in your future.

Pineapple fiber made into cloth makes beautiful, expensive, traditional formal wear over here. I'm very curious about using it in soap. Looking forward to your tests!
