If you have a family member or co-worker or clients who are hearing impaired, please take a look at this pattern for a Face Mask with a see through window that facilitate lip reading through the clear window.

Regular face masks not only slow the spread of the virus, but they also muffle the voice when the wearer speaks, making it that much more difficult for the hearing impaired person to understand what is being said. This mask serves two purposes: slow the spread of the virus while at the same time to facilitate better communication with the hearing impaired.

Even when a hearing impaired person is not trained to lipread, they often depend on visual cues that come from watching the lips and facial expressions. Speaking to a hearing impaired person face-on as if you believe they can read lips, will go a long way to help them to hear &/or decipher your words.
