So if I was making a batch of soap and accidentally put in 2 tsp. of honey rather than the 1tsp. that the recipe called for, what is likely to be the result? Anything bad?

This is the recipe, from Soaping 101:
2 oz. cocoa butter
16 oz. soybean oil
1 oz. olive oil

4.7 oz. water
2.4 oz lye

1 oz. milk
1 tsp. honey
3 tsp. ground oats

Honey will overheat faster than sugar for me. Don't ask me why. I have no explanation.

However, there should be no ill effects on the soap from extra honey-to a point. I would not exceed 1 oz honey in that size batch. And I would stick it immediately into a freezer upon pouring. Probably with a wet towel wrapped around the bottom of the mold to hasten cooling.

I think I lucked out because it appears to be completely fine. I kept an eye on it and it never got too hot, so evidently the Gods of soap were shining on me today.
