Does Gelling have any effect on Scent?

I was just thinking...

If EO's (and maybe FO's too) are negatively effected by heat, then would not gelling your batch make the scent hold up better?

some say yes. i say no.

it's more likely, in my experience, that the pH of the soap is the culprit, not the heat. i work in the fragrance manufacturing industry and this is also the input from our perfumers and the folks in the applications lab.
