I just tried a test bar that I used lanolin in. No lather, and leaves a film on the skin, and the soap seems to drag across the skin. The recipe that I used has great lather without the lanolin. Any one else have this problem? TIA.

How much did you use. It is very nice in small quantity.

1 tsp is approximately 5 grams if it's exactly 1 tsp. round the tsp and it's more like twice that.

in a 1 lb batch is just about 1%: 5/(5+454) = 1% which I imagine would be ok, but I personally wouldn't go any higher.

are you sure all your measurements were accurate?

Yes my weights were right on. I soap rtcp. Maybe I need to soap a little warmer? I have heard good things about lanolin, I was just surprised of the feeling that it left on my skin, and no lather. It is like a water proof film, the water beads up my skin. So maybe I need to cut back on it. Thanks for all the replies and help.
