As I said, it was not there. I will attempt to find it with this post. But with the post I attempted to delete and provided a link to was less than one minute old. I cross-posted with another person saying the same thing at the same time, hence the desire to delete. It had nothing to do with a problem with what I had to say.

Anyway, after I post this I will immediately try to find the 'alleged' delete button and use my snipping tool to capture what I see. I will then post what shows on my screen.

    ETA:

Nope, it's not there less than one minute later.

Not finding it with the first Edit option, I moved to Advanced and there is still no Delete Button.

ETA again: This time I came back again looking to see if the Button is Hidden and that perhaps I could delete by clicking in a spot where I think the Delete Button might be. As far as I can tell, it is not Hidden either. Clicking around to the Left of the Edit Button doesn't do anything. And Clicking on the Edit Button just takes me to the Advanced screen seen above in the second picture.

One more test to see if the Delete Button is hidden under another button. I will try to use the Go Advanced button to see if it works to delete this particular post.

ETA: No, that doesn't do it either. It just goes to the same screen shown in the second picture in my above post. And the Cancel Button works properly, too.

    Hmmm, let me check.

ETA: It is there at the bottom, Save, Go Advanced, Delete, Cancel

Just out of curiosity, what device are you using to read and post right now?

A Windows 10 PC (laptop.) It's the same one I've used before the button disappeared. I have not updated any software. We all seemed to have the button disappear at more or less the same time. But you had it re-appear and for me it has never re-appeared.

Testing from a different browser, even though I use FF almost exclusively, I thought I'd see if it looks different with another browser.

ETA: NO, it looks exactly the same. No Delete button here either.

I posted at 2:08 pm, it is now 5:49 pm and the delete button is still there for me.:???: When I click "Go Advanced", the option to delete the message is first on the list. If you can't delete the message, just edit it and backspace until what you want to erase is deleted. You can contact us and we will take care of deleting the blank message box. That doesn't fix the delete button for some of you, but it is all I can do at this time.

Testing delete (I don't think I have it either, so this post is to check) ...

On Windows, I don't have a delete button (I ran the two tests from Earlene's screen shots - one from front page and a look in advanced - no delete). Off to check a mac device ...

    Mac device ... no delete.

    Testing from an iMac...

ETA: No delete button. I actually deleted the above in "Edit" mode, the page was blank, I went away, and when I came back, there it was, undeleted

ETA: Okay, so you have to delete the text, then type in "deleted", then choose "Save" to get it gone.

Supporting Members and Lifetime Supporting Members check your delete button. Good only for posts.

The time frame to edit a post has gone from 3 hours to 1 day.

    Test.

    ETA with screenshots:

There it is!!! Thank you, Angie!

But don't use the Go Advanced button, because the Delete Button is not present in the Advanced option.

But I was able to delete a post, so that was great. Thank you!!!!!

When this was sorted out, delete was still available for me (as a, currently, non-subscriber), so I didn't worry.

Looks like delete has been removed in the last week or so?

I went to delete a post, within a few seconds of posting it, to modify what I was saying (for clarity to apply a title, that I believe is important to the location of the thread and the topic) ... and that wasn't available.

I believe the Delete feature is only available to Supporting Members.

Yes, I understand that (which is why I specifically mentioned it in my post).

The thing was it WAS available, even after the changes were made, and only later became unavailable.

    Doesn't really matter. I found a workaround anyways. :)

The permissions were corrected. Supporting Members have a few extra "perks", this is one of them. Registered members do not have the ability to delete their own posts. This is how it was suppose to be at the start of this thread.

Now, I'll close it since the question is answered.
