I was given some bear fat a couple days ago and got it all rendered yesterday so I whipped up a batch today for the hunter.

Scented with deadly weapon from NG. Used 25% bear tallow and man, did it trace slow.
Fantastic to work with, beautiful scent free fat.

Lovely! I'm not a swirler but I've been thinking I'd like to try exactly that balance of color to white the next time I make an activated charcoal bar. If you don't mind my asking, what portion of the batch did you color with black? Is it an in the pot swirl? TIA

Thanks, yes its a in the pot swirl. Its really the only swirl I get consistent results with.

This one was a 27oz batch and I used around 1 cup of black batter, maybe a little more. It really doesn't take much black, I think this one is a little heavy myself.
