I know that some metals react with the soap while it’s curing, adds those dreaded orange spots(dos). Would it be safe to use a galvanized steel rack to cure my soap on?

I would put something atop the rack to keep the soap from touching the metal.

I use plastic mesh on top of metal racks and as long as the soap is not touching the metal, it all seems to be fine. The airflow is not impeded by the plastic mesh.

I tried using brand new plastic coated racks and still got DOS. So I got some of material for drawer lining. I got the thickest I could find.
