Crumbly soap dough

For some reason, my second batch of soap dough turned out way more crumbly than the first. I'll figure out why later, but for now I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how to save/soften it?

Should I add a little water? Or maybe Castile soap or something?

Which soap dough recipe did you use?

figuring out why is crumbly could give you better clues as to how to fix it. If it is both crumbly and hard, for example, it could be low water content. When that happens I just make a new batch and use that one for confetti soap.
