Does it make sense to get two scales or should I invest in just the one? what's your preference.. which kind would you say will cover everything at an affordablw price ? or they don't do that and i would need two?
I like having both, but if you can only afford one, get the kitchen scale.
I went looking around for ingredients yest and came up with a few Q's
I'm curious
As for the stearic acid I went comparing the amount you get vs asking price on various sites and on one of the sites, -I came across a product that was called 'Stearic Acid triple pressed - Raw material' ? would there be any benefit in using this stearic vs the other stearic.. or is there no real difference between the two at all?
Not that I am aware.
Oh & on another site, while in search for optiphen, I came across a product called 'Optiphen plus' which has the two Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol in it (just like the optiphen) BUT it also has Sorbic Acid added in for better protection to, I think, help ward off mold, yeast, and fungi.
Is the optiphen plus compatible with the lady's foaming bath butter base recipe ?(the lady's foaming whipped sugar suap scrubrecipe that we purchased from etsy .. i don't know her name)
if so,
Is there any benefit to using the optiphen plus in place of the regular optiphen? Or is it best to stick with the optiphen?
You are fine with either one. I have Optiphen Plus on hand for other recipes, so I also use it in this recipe, as well.
I see that you can add body butters to these foaming wsss too., What do you think about that overall...
The lad;ys recipe (from etsy) does not have any butters in it.
It only has a carrier oil,
I would love to add in to this recipe one butter or even two (to start with haha) curious on this though!!.
I understand it will change the recipe and I would have to play with it. I have no idea how to go about doing soand I don't want to do it on this attempt. I want to first get everything we need for this recipe and make it then after that we can go ahead and play around with adding butters in. I'm just thinking ahead is all.
Remember that this is a two-step recipe: you are making a base first, then the scrub. I would make the base exactly as written, without any oils or butters. When you go to make the Foaming sugar scrub, it calls for a certain amount of your pre-prepared base, plus "carrier oil of your choice." That can certainly be a butter if you'd like. Just remember that many butters are prone to going grainy with temperature changes - which are daily occurrences in any shower/bath area. For that reason, a butter may not be the best choice here.
I know by the time I hit the send button here that another question will be popping up again =)=)
It may be easier for us to chat, possibly thru the email? I have Gmail
