Hello All,

I am very new to the soap making process. I have, at this time, made three batches of cold process soap. My next batch is going to include tangerine essential oil and I have read that citrus scents do not stay well after curing. I have also read that cornstarch may help the scent stay. However, I have read conflicting information regarding this. A few places suggest 1 Tablespoon/po and others 1 teaspoon/po. Has anyone tired this, and if so at which rate and did you have success with the citrus scent adhering.

Thank You in Advance,

J

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Some people do use cornstarch to try to anchor their EO/FO. I would do about 1tsp ppo or just a bit more. Too much and it could cause the texture of your soap to be weird.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this post you will see a couple more regarding this question as well.
