Hi! Brand new to soap making. Have been doing melt and pour for about 2 weeks now. I have a question about vanilla color stabilizer that I can't seem to find the answer to. I know how to properly use it and have had experience using it. My question is, in what colors should I use it? I make a lot of black soap with activated charcoal. Is it necessary to use the stabilizer in black soaps since they are so dark colored? What about other dark colored soaps (gray, dark purple)?

I have always used the stabilizer if I am using a fragrance with vanilla in it. However I have not made dark colored soaps. I would ask that question of your supplier if you don't get a definitive answer here.

There is absolutely no point in using VS in soaps you are going to color dark. The point of VS is to keep discoloring fragrance oils, such as fo's with high vanilla percentages from discoloring light color soap.
