Hi I am making another batch of CPHP and here's the recipe:

1000g coconut oil
380g water
153g lye
63g Dragons Blood FO
1/4tsp ponceau/tartrazine blend dispersed in 3/4tsp almond oil
Handful poppy seeds

Plan is to add last 3 ingredients at completion of saponification eg. Still hot in crock pot but passes zap test/gel.

Quantities for FO and colour taken from Soapqueen, and fats run through lye calc at +20%.

I trust this is all sensible?

Thank you

Hi Anglezarke- I'm not sure which lye calculator you used, but on SoapCalc (the calculator I always use), your amount of 153g lye for a 1000 gram coconut oil batch using NaOH gives you a superfat level of 16.5%. A 20% superfat would call for 146.6 grams lye.

Thanks both. I used www.thesoapcalculator.com for the ratios. In the end I ditched the last 3 ingredients, adding bentonite + 10ml lavender and 5ml bergamot plus 1 tablespoon yoghurt at gel. Turned out really well, controlled trace and gel, easy to pour and washes nice. Definitely more of a cleansing bar than a moisturising bar but am happy with it.
