Carolyn, been thinking about all day today but couldn't get online. I always forget how far away you are from Riverside. This is another monster fire!

I am approx 50 miles west of Riverside. Thanks for thinking of me as I keep looking at our brown hillsides. How is it going in your area, I know there are problems in your locality also.

We're fine. Hot and dry enough to crack my skin, but no wind this close to the ocean. Probably cancelling my trip to Julian - they have red flag warnings, plus don't want to be that far from home until things calm down.

Yes, those brown hills and canyons; all it takes is one spark from a an untuned car exhaust....

ETA: actually - should spend the weekend double checking emergency water and food. They go bad sitting around for a year or two.
