Well here is some Blackberry Sage Charcoal Soap. I wanted to swirl it but the FO told me I had to make layers so here it is. šŸ˜† šŸ¤£ šŸ˜‚

I used Berried treasure FO its pretty good for a swirl. I love the smell. I keep trying to practice my tiger swirl some people do it so perfect with perfect layers mine always looks like a big swirl but I still really like it like that. I'm still so stiff when I try to pour I've only been making soap for 5 month so I'm still a bit panicky and my move ment is stiff I wish I could learn to relax šŸ˜Œ a little I think my pour would be better. But anyways here is my berry soap. I love ā¤ it!

You are on a beautiful roll! I know you wanted swirls but me likes the stripes too. Especially the charcoal one.
Oh thank you so much I like the charcoal one to its hard to tell because of the lighting in my house but I got the stripes navy blue and grey it looks cool in the light.

I have 3 soaping stations. Station 1 I mix my lye and oils. Station 2 is where I split and color my soap and FO or EO it. Station 3 is where I pour my batch of soap. That's how I soap lolšŸ˜‚

AWESOME! Well done! It reminds me of Dad's woodworking shop. View attachment 72950
Lol that is my dad's woodworking shop well he turned the garage into a work place for him self he is retired now but still works lol. I rent a apartment from my parents lol so I use his garage for soaping and it's nice that I can open the garage door and his old table saw makes a nice table to soap on lol. That's so funny you said that ha ha!

Every time I smell sawdust, it reminds me of Dad. He was a great husband, uncle, father and grandfather. A lot of fun too! he liked having kids to "play" with and we all learned a lot from him.
I love the smell too the only thing that sucks a little is I can't store my soap stuff in the garage because every thing gets covered in saw dust lol. But that's ok I have 3 more shelves to put together to put my soap stuff on. Your dad sounds amazing he sounds like he was a great father. He sounds a little like my Dad. My Dad is always taking my boys on hikes and canoeing and fishing even now that my boys are grown up 15 and 25 my boys are lol and they still do stuff together with my Dad. I've only been soaping for 7 months now so I need to make space for my soap stuff my pile of soap stuff is getting bigger and it's a pain unpacking my boxes and repacking them every time I soap so I got some shelves lol. I will show you my little pile in my kitchen lol that doesn't include my oils packed under my stairs lol.

Same here. Don't get me started. LOL He lived until age 90 and remained active until the last 2 years of his life when he was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer. He is greatly missed. Fond memories.

That's a common problem. I hope you have wall space where you can build enough shelves to cure your soaps and store raw materials and equipment. After 20 years, I have stuff stored all over the place -- in my office, in the laundry room, in the kitchen, in the basement and the guest bedroom is the cure room. Over time, it just accumulates. šŸ˜

So before I chop my soap up to make embeds. I just wanted to show everybody how nice soap can be using a 1 L milk carton so I cut it into bars for you to see. This is how I learned to make soap my very first time and is probably the reason I love square soap so much. It also bevels the corners of your soap and you get a nice clean cut and the soap is so smooth. Just the bottom has lines that aren't very nice but you can easily cut a thin slice off and it's ready to cut into bars. It's fun and easy to use I just rinse out the milk container right away and save a couple to keep handy to use it's also perfect for just making a couple bars to test fragrances. All my molds are wooden 3 pounders so if I want to make a small batch this is perfect. So here are some pictures of how nice it is. All you do is peal off the carton and it's ready to go.

Lovely soap! Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
Thank You.gif

I used milk cartons when I first started soaping in 2003. They are great for easy unmolding! I don't if there's any quart-size cartons available but that size makes lovely square bars.

32 oz. soap / a factor of 1.37 = 23 oz. oils (approx.)

Open the top. Pour the soap in. Fold down the top. Insulate well with old towels or blankets. Unmold the next day and cut shortly thereafter. ;)

Love it lol what you said. I actually just put mine in the oven on warm for 4 hours lol but I know some people don't like using the oven my oven still smells of Pinetar soap from the other day lol.

Here is my favorite part of the day cutting my soap my beautiful Pinetar soap I put Lavender essential oil in it this time I can't wait to use it. Now I get to go to bed with a smile on my face.šŸ˜„
