Hi
Im new to soap making but its becoming an obsession
Ive used some crystal m&p bases and they started to set at 120c get a skin and not swirl but good to layer. I got claranol and at 60c it blended to hot to layer or swirl!
Now i was using a candy thermometer with crystal base then changed to infra one which could mean my thermometer was off.
Can you tell me does claranol have a much lower melting point and does that mean its a much softer bar.
If it is id best not add oils.
Does any one know the best temperature to pour it so embeds dont melt.
If you use stephenson what temperature is best for same as Im trying to decide on a base I can stick with.
Many thanks
