I am trying to choose between two different bases - I'm hoping maybe somebody here has tried both of them, and can give a comparison?

Wholesale Supplies Plus

and The Chemistry Store.

I have tried the base from WSP, and it was fine, but the one from the CS sounds and looks a lot creamier and softer. But it could be mind games, because it looks like cream cheese frosting. :)

Does anybody have any insight?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hey there!

I personally like WSP's better, I've tried both....although I thought I read somewhere that chemistry changed their formula within the last 3 months or so.

I like WSP's because it's thicker to start with so you can whip it as much as you'd like (well not too much or it'll collapse). Chemistry's was too soft to begin with, it was hard to get the right consistancy when I used it.

I have pictures of both....I can see the difference..not sure if you'll be able to...but you can email me & I'll show you. [email protected]

Hope this helps :)[/img]

I used the chem stores a few years back. I switched to WSP because it was easier to use & seemed to hold it's shape better. I also prefer WSP biz practices/customer service.

BTW: When I ordered it from chem store, they were selling the Stephenson's FBB base, not sure they are selling the same one now.

Yes, I think you're right Tabitha about the Stephens's base...not sure if they're still using that or not but it was average quality in my opinion.

Great info :)
