Cheap, generic micas: accounting for morphing/fading

The listing says that it creates a shimmering effect in soaps. That means melt & pour soaps, as micas generally don't shimmer in CP soaps, unless they are used as an oil drizzle rather than overall colorant. Unless a mica says that it is CP-soap stable, it's a toss of the dice.

Having said that, I had pretty good luck with the cheap mica set from Michaels, which is a craft store here in the US. One or two of the colors morphed (thanks to the lye), and two of them sped up trace pretty well. But the rest were fine. Hopefully yours will be, as well.
