This is from a page online..
Castor is wonderful to superfat with, but it must be saponified if you want the added bubbles it provides.
I'm confused, Does it add bubble? I thought it was more of a stabilizer and does it really have to saponify to work?

Castor on it's own doesn't produce any lather. See this video of a 100% castor soap being lathered: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l9CX2L2hHk#t=16[/ame] But it does help to give 'body' to the lather produced by other oils such as coconut, pko, or babassu.
